In order to prepare for your session, please ensure that you will be undisturbed. If you could relax for thirty minutes before your session that will help a lot ( but please set an alarm in case you fall asleep!) Do make the space nice for yourself, get a warm blanket, tissues, water etc. This is your time – so make it special!
Of course some people come flying in from work and get straight on the phone to me, that is fine of course but its much nicer for you if you can sit quietly for ten minutes or so before hand. It helps to make your space nice, so have some water handy, some tissues are often helpful, get a nice blanket so you stay nice and warm.
Some people like to light candles and dim the lights but this is up to you. And of course do your best to make sure that you are undisturbed for the duration of your session and for about half an hour afterwards, so you have some space to process everything. Try not to go partying hard after a session if possible!
Also, after your session, you will need to take sea salt baths every night for a week. Sea salt can be found at your local supermarket (note: not table salt or Epsom salts but you can also use Himalayan salt which is pale pink in colour). You will need two big handfuls per bath and you need to stay in the bath no more than twenty minutes. If you don’t have a bath, you can mix fine sea salt with olive oil and use as a body scrub in the shower (avoiding the head and groin area) although PLEASE be careful as this will make your shower or bath very slippery.
If you feel ungrounded after your session, it helps to eat a protein-based meal. You will also need to drink lots of water in the week after your session, so if you drink bottled water you might wish to stock up with this. You may well like to have some ‘me’ time after your session, so try to arrange your diary accordingly.
